Dementia has been earmarked as one of the early health and social care priorities for the devolved Greater Manchester health and social care health system.

A transformation programme called Dementia United has been launched which aims to improve the lived experiences of people with dementia and reduce pressure on the health and social care system.

The programme will be supported by the work of the Greater Manchester and East Cheshire Strategic Clinical Network, which brings together clinicians, managers, patients, carers and members of the public to improve outcomes for patients.
